The Canadian Trans Youth Health Survey revealed that almost half of the youth surveyed are living in their felt gender all the time. The study, which was conducted in 2019 with 1519 youth aged between 14 and 25 from every province and territory in Canada, focused on gathering information about the health of trans youth. The findings showed that there is an urgent need for healthcare providers to offer support to these young people.

The study also highlighted that trans youth face significant barriers when it comes to accessing healthcare. Most of those surveyed reported experiencing discrimination or harassment when seeking medical care, which can have a detrimental impact on their mental and physical health. With such a high percentage of young people living in their felt gender all the time, it's crucial that they receive adequate support and care from medical professionals who understand their unique needs.
